ARTIST STATEMENT

 

Reto’s diverse bodies of work express original, lyrical and biomorphic shapes which capture movement and colour to blend into harmonious and wonderfully spontaneous imagery. To the viewer
his paintings evoke emotions ranging from serene and sensuous to dynamic and chaotic.

 

Reto explores the interplay of the viscosity of acrylic paint in conjunction with his dynamic gestural brush strokes. His paintings are partially dictated through chance and his exploration of colour syntheses, combined with his emotional subconscious bank of imagery. Reto translates the complexity of his mind to a visual language of colour, texture and movement.
